A/C Condenser Assembly Removal and Installation

A/C Condenser Assembly On-Vehicle Inspection

NOTE:

Condenser fins can easily be bent during removal of the condenser assembly.

Remove the condenser assembly carefully so as not to damage the fins. If any of them is bent, straighten it using a flat head screwdriver or a pair of pliers.

Removal

1) Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2) Recover refrigerant from A/C system referring to Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Charging A/C with Refrigerant.

NOTE:
The amount of removed compressor oil must be measured for replenishing.

3) Remove front bumper assembly referring to Service and Repair Front Bumper Components.
4) Remove front bumper upper member.
5) Disconnect compressor discharge hose (1) and liquid pipe (2) from condenser assembly (4).

NOTE:
Seal opening of the disconnected parts to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering.

6) Remove condenser assembly mounting bolts (3), and then remove condenser assembly.






Installation

Reverse removal sequence to install condenser, noting the following point.

- Replenish compressor with specified amount of compressor oil from suction side referring to Precautions on Replenishing Compressor Oil Precautions on Replenishing Compressor Oil.
- Evacuate and charge the A/C system referring to "Evacuation" and "Charge" in Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Charging A/C with Refrigerant.
