Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

P/S Fluid Leakage Check

P/S Fluid Leakage Check

Start engine and turn steering wheel fully to the right and left so that maximum hydraulic pressure is provided.

Then visually check P/S gear case assembly (1), P/S pump (2) and P/S fluid reservoir (3) themselves and each joint of their connecting pipes for leakage.

NOTE:

If the steering wheel is held at the fully turned position for too long, the P/S pump will be damaged.

Do not hold the steering wheel at the fully turned position for more than 10 seconds.
