Expansion Valve Removal and Installation

Removal

1) Recover refrigerant from A/C system referring to "Recovery" in Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge.
2) Remove liquid pipe bolt (1), and then remove liquid pipe (3) and suction hose (4) from expansion valve (2).
3) Remove expansion valve bolts (5), and then remove expansion valve.






Installation

Expansion Valve Inspection

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

- Apply specified compressor oil to new O-ring of expansion valve and pipes.

Compressor oil: 99000-99022-00E (Compressor oil (DH-PS, 250cc))

- Tighten expansion valve bolts and liquid pipe bolt to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Expansion valve bolt 3.2 Nm (0.33 kgf-m, 2.5 lbf-ft)
Liquid pipe bolt 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 9.0 lbf-ft)

- Evacuate and charge A/C system referring to "Evacuation" and "Charge" in Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge.
