Disassemble

Exploded view of typical Nippondenso 10 cylinder compressor:

1. Remove felt oil seal, Fig. 3.
2. Remove snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
3. Remove key from shaft using suitable tools, then apply compressor oil to inner bore of compressor.
4. Remove shaft plate and shaft seals using suitable puller.
5. Remove service valve attaching bolts, then the service valve and O-ring from compressor.
6. Drain compressor oil into a suitable container.
7. Remove six front housing through bolts and washers, then front housing by prying on housing protrusion. Use caution not to scratch sealing surface of front housing.
8. Remove front valve plate, then the two guide pins from cylinder block if equipped.
9. Remove rear housing by prying on housing protrusion. Use caution not to scratch sealing surface of rear housing.
10. Remove rear valve plate, then the two guide pins from cylinder block if equipped.
11. Remove front and rear O-rings from cylinder block.
