Distributor, Replace

NOTE: The 7M-GTE engine does not use a distributor. In its place a cam position sensor is used. For removal procedures, refer to CAM POSITION SENSOR, REPLACE.

1. Set cylinder No. 1 at TDC compression stroke.
2. Disconnect wires from spark plugs.
3. Disconnect electrical leads and vacuum hose (if equipped) from distributor.
4. Remove distributor hold-down bolt and distributor.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure cylinder No. 1 is set at TDC compression stroke and distributor rotor is pointing towards No. 1 tower of distributor cap.
