Piston Pin: Service and Repair

Align Piston And Connecting Rod:

1. Align the notch on the piston with the mark on the connector.

Install Snap Ring:

2. Install the snap ring on one side.

Heat Piston Prior To Wrist Pin Installation:

3. Heat piston to 140°F (60°C).

Push In The Wrist Pin:

4. Push in the wrist pin.

Install Other Snap Ring:

5. Install the snap ring on the other side.

Check For Smooth Movement Of Piston Assembly:

6. Rock the piston at right angle to the pin and confirm that movement is smooth.
