Cruise Control Servo: Testing and Inspection

Actuator Check:






RESISTANCE TEST


1. Unplug actuator connector. Check resistance between terminals:
a. Between S1 - S2: approx. 68 ohms
b. Between S1 - S3: approx. 30 ohms
2. If not as specified, replace actuator.

OPERATION TEST

1. Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle body.
2. Check that diaphragm moves smoothly when either terminals S2 or S3 are connected to battery voltage and terminal S1 is grounded.
3. Check that cable does not return easily when pulled with a force of 4.4 - 6.6 lb (2 - 3 kg).
4. If operation is not as specified, replace actuator.
