Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and discharge system refrigerant.
2. Disconnect refrigerant lines from evaporator, capping all openings.
3. Remove grommets from inlet and outlet fittings.
4. Remove glove box assembly, side air duct and air duct band, then disconnect electrical connectors.
5. Remove two nuts, screw and bolt, then the cooling unit.
6. Remove thermistor.
7. Remove two screws and five clamps securing lower case and remove lower case.
8. Remove upper case from evaporator.
9. Reverse procedure to install, then evacuate and recharge system and check for leaks.

NOTE: If evaporator is replaced, add 1.4-1.7 oz. of new refrigerant oil to compressor.
