Oxygen Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Connect voltmeter to EFI service connector using adapter 09842-14010 or equivalent, Fig. 40. Connector is located in harness with ``Check Engine'' connector.
2. Connect suitable tachometer, start engine and run until it reaches normal operating temperature.
3. Run engine at 2500 RPM for approximately 2 minutes to heat oxygen sensor.
4. With engine running at 2500 RPM, voltmeter needle should deflect at least 8 times every 10 seconds.

5. If needle does not deflect as outlined, refer to Fig. 30 to diagnose malfunction.
