1. Inspect hoses and tubes for cracks, kinks, damage and improper connections, and repair as needed.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from air suction shut-off valve and plug hose.
3. Remove air cleaner cover and start engine.
4. Reconnect vacuum hose while observing valve. With engine running at idle, a bubbling noise should be heard from AS valve inlet.
5. If vacuum signal is satisfactory, test AS valve assembly.
