Neutral Safety Switch: Adjustments

THROTTLE CABLE

1. Remove air intake hose, fully depress accelerator pedal and ensure throttle valve is fully open. If not, adjust accelerator linkage.
2. Hold accelerator pedal fully depressed, and adjust cable to obtain 0-0.04 inch (0-1 mm) clearance between end of housing and inner cable stop, Fig. 1.
3. Tighten adjusting nuts to secure adjustment and release accelerator pedal.
4. Fully depress accelerator pedal and recheck adjustment.
5. Install air hose and road test vehicle.

TRANSAXLE CONTROL CABLE

1. Loosen swivel nut on control lever at transaxle.
2. Push manual lever fully toward right side of vehicle, then return lever 2 notches to neutral position.
3. Place selector lever at Neutral.
4. Hold lever slightly toward Reverse range side and tighten swivel nut.




NEUTRAL START SWITCH

1. Loosen neutral start switch attaching bolts.
2. Place transaxle selector lever to Neutral position.
3. Align groove in neutral basic line, Fig. 3.
4. Maintain groove in position, then torque attaching bolts to 48 inch lbs.
5. Adjust idle speed to specifications.
