Removal/Installation

1. Disable airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2. On models equipped with airbag, pull wheel pad out from steering wheel and disconnect airbag connector. When removing wheel pad, take care not to pull airbag wire harness. When storing wheel pad, keep upper surface of the pad facing upward. Never disassemble wheel pad.
3. On all models, remove horn button screws and horn button.
4. Scribe alignment marks on steering wheel and steering shaft.
5. Remove steering wheel nut.
6. Using a steering wheel puller, remove steering wheel.
7. Remove steering column upper and lower covers.
8. Remove combination switch.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Rearm airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
