Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch

1. Disable airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
2. On models equipped with airbag, pull wheel pad out from steering wheel and disconnect airbag connector. When removing wheel pad, take care not to pull airbag wire harness. When storing wheel pad, keep upper surface of the pad facing upward. Never disassemble wheel pad.
3. On all models, remove steering wheel, then upper and lower steering column covers.
4. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering wheel and upper and lower steering column covers.
5. Disconnect wire terminal from horn contact.
6. Disconnect battery ground cable. Allow at least 20 seconds after ignition switch is turned to the ``Lock'' position and battery is disconnected before beginning work.
7. Disconnect windshield wiper/washer switch connector, then using a small screwdriver, disengage windshield wiper/washer switch wiring from combination switch connector. Note position of wires.
8. Remove screw, clamp and windshield wiper/washer switch assembly.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Rearm airbag system, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING.
