The engine identification code is stamped on the engine block.
ENGINE CODE EXPLANATION: 1st Digit - Engine generation code
2nd Letter - Engine model code (VIN)

C - USA spec. engines
E - Fuel injection
F - Twin camshafts
G - Twin camshafts
L - Transverse engine
T - Turbocharged
Z - Supercharged
