TIMING PROCEDURE

Except as described below, disconnect and plug vacuum advance hose(s) when making timing adjustments.

1981-87 4230cc Canada: Leave sub-diaphragm hose connected.

1981-87 1452cc, 1597cc 2V: Disconnect and plug vacuum retard hose only.

1981-87 2366cc: Leave all hoses connected.

1981-90: The ESA system can be identified by the absence of a distributor vacuum advance unit. To set base timing, place a jumper wire between check connector cavities T & E1.
