Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect negative (-) terminal cable from battery.

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Drain engine coolant.
3. Remove Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor.
^ Disconnect the ECT Sensor connector.





^ Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench. remove the ECT Sensor and gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install a new gasket to the ECT Sensor.
2. Using a 19 mm deep socket, install the ECT Sensor.

Torque: 20 Nm (14 ft lb)

3. Connect the ECT Sensor connector.
4. Refill With Engine Coolant

Capacity: 8.7 liters (9.2 US qts)

5. Reconnect Negative (-) Terminal Cable To Battery.
