Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection
ECT SENSOR INSPECTION: 1.
REMOVE ECT SENSOR.
2.
INSPECT ECT SENSOR.
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Resistance Values:

Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
3.
RE-INSTALL ECT SENSOR.
