Crankshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

View Of Distributor Connector:

Check resistance between terminals 3 (NE-) and 4 (NE+) of the Distributor connector.

COLD: 370 - 550 ohms
HOT: 475 - 650 ohms

Checking Pickup Coils (Sensors) Air Gap:

Check the air gap between the NE pick-up coil and the four projection rotor.

Air Gap: 0.2 - 0.4 mm (0.008 - 0.0016 in)

If any of the measured values do not match specifications, replace the Distributor housing assembly.
