Vehicle Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection




Vehicle NO.1 Speed Sensor Inspection Procedure








- Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and negative(-) lead to terminal 2.
- Connect the positive lead (+) lead from tester to termonal 1 and the negative (_) lead to terminal 2.
- Revolve the shaft
- Check thath there is voltage change from approx 0 volts to 11 volts or more bewtween termoinals 1 and 2.

NOTE : The voltage change should be 4 times for every revolution of the speed sensor shaft. If operation is not specified, replace the sensor.




Vehicle NO.2 Speed Sensor Inspection Procedure


No. 2 Speed Sensor:






- Jack up a rear wheel on one side.
- Connect an ohmmeter between the terminals.
- Spin the wheel and check that the meter needle deflects from 0 to infinity.
