Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTER
- Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
- Remove the 2 bolts and support bracket holding the front exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe.





- Remove the 3 bolts and support bracket.
- Remove the 3 nuts, front exhaust pipe and 3 gaskets.
2. REINSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTER
- Place 2 new gaskets to the exhaust manifold.
- Place a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe.
- Attach the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and center exhaust pipe.
- Temporarily install the 3 new nuts and front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
- Temporarily install the 2 new bolts, support bracket and front exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe.
- Install the support bracket with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 44 N.m (450 kgf.cm, 33 ft.lbf)

- Tighten the 3 nuts and 2 bolts.
