Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Testing and Inspection

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT.





2. REMOVE ECT SENSOR.
- Disconnect the engine wire protector from the 3 brackets.
- Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.





- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, remove the ECT sensor and gasket.





3. INSPECT ECT SENSOR.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.





Resistance: Refer to the chart graph

- If the resistance is not as specified, replace the ECT sensor.
4. REINSTALL ECT SENSOR.
- Using a 19 mm deep socket wrench, install the ECT sensor and gasket.

Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

- Connect the ECT sensor connector.
- Install the engine wire protector to the 3 brackets.
5. REFILL ENGINE COOLANT.
