ACTUATOR INSPECTION







1. INSPECT ACTUATOR MAGNETIC CLUTCH







a. Check that the arm moves smoothly by hand.







b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 5 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 4. (Magnetic clutch turned ON)
c. Check that the arm does not move by hand.

NOTE: Do not connect the high tension cables to the wrong battery terminal.

You will damage the cruise control actuator.

If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

2. INSPECT ACTUATOR MOTOR







a. With the magnetic clutch ON. connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 7, check that the arm moves to the open side.
b. When the arm reached to the open position, check that the motor operation stops.
c. With the magnetic clutch ON, connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6. check that the arm moves to the close side.







d. When the arm reaches to the closed position, check that the motor operation stops.

3. INSPECT POSITION SENSOR
a. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3.

Resistance:
Approx. 2 k Ohms







b. When the arm is moving form the closed to open position, check that resistance between terminals 2 and 3 increases form approx. 0.5 to 1.7 k Ohms.

If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
