Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Drain engine coolant.
2. CANADA only: Disconnect relay box (for daytime running light system) from radiator.
Remove the 2 bolts, and disconnect the relay box from the radiator.
3. Remove radiator assembly.





a. Disconnect the connectors and wire:
1) No.1 cooling fan connector
2) w/ A/C: No.2 cooling fan connector
3) Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) switch connector for electric cooling fan
4) Wire from clamp on No.1 cooling fan
b. Disconnect these hoses:
1) Upper radiator hose from radiator
2) Lower radiator hose from water inlet
3) Radiator reservoir hose from radiator





4) 2 oil cooler hoses from oil cooler pipes
c. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.





d. Remove the radiator assembly.
e. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.
f. Remove these hoses from the radiator:
- Lower radiator hose
- 2 A/T oil cooler hoses

4. w/ A/C: Remove NO.2 cooling fan from radiator.
Remove the 3 bolts and cooling fan.
5. Remove NO.1 cooling fan from radiator.
Remove the 4 bolts and cooling fan.


INSTALLATION
1. Install NO.1 cooling fan to radiator.
Install the cooling fan with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 Nm (43 inch lbs.)

2. w/ A/C: Install NO.2 cooling fan to radiator.
Install the cooling fan with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 Nm (43 inch lbs.)

3. Install radiator.





a. Install these hoses:
- Lower radiator hose
- 2 A/T oil cooler hoses

b. Install the 2 lower radiator supports to the radiator.
c. Attach the 2 lower radiator supports on the radiator to the body brackets.
d. Install the 2 upper radiator supports with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 13 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)





HINT: After installation, check that the rubber cushion (A) of the support is not depressed.

e. Connect these hoses:
- Upper radiator hose to radiator
- Lower radiator hose to water inlet
- Radiator reservoir hose to radiator
- 2 A/T oil cooler hoses to oil cooler pipes

f. Connect the connectors and wire:
- No.1 cooling fan connector
- w/ A/C: No.2 cooling fan connector
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) switch connector for electric cooling fan
- Wire to clamp on No.1 cooling fan

4. CANADA only: Install relay box (for daytime running light system).
Install the relay box with the 2 bolts.
5. Fill with engine coolant.
6. Start engine and check for coolant leaks.
