EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection





1. REMOVE [1][2]VSV
a. Remove the bolt.
b. Disconnect the connector and 2 vacuum hoses from the [1][2]VSV.

2. INSPECT [1][2]VSV





a. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals.

Resistance: At 20°C (68°F): 33-39 Ohm

If there is no continuity, replace the [1][2]VSV.





b. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
If there is continuity, replace the [1][2]VSV.





c. Check that air does not flow from ports E to F.





d. Apply battery positive voltage across the terminals.
e. Check that air flows from ports E to F.
If operation is not as specified, replace the [1][2]VSV.

3. REINSTALL [1][2]VSV
