[1] Use "Toyota Long-Life Coolant" or equivalent. The coolant mixture must contain ethylene-glycol anti-freeze. In addition to preventing freezing and subsequent damage to the engine, the mixture will also prevent corrosion. Further supplemental inhibitors or additives are neither needed nor recommended. Use a mixture of approximately 50% (but not more than 70%) anti-freeze mixed with distilled or demineralized water, or enough to provide protection to about -35°C (-31°F). Check specific gravity to determine freezing point.

NOTE: Do not use alcohol type anti-freeze or water without anti-freeze.
