EGR Temperature Sensor: Testing and Inspection

COMPONENTS

INSPECTION

1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY

2. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

3. INSPECT EGR GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Resistance:
At 50 °C (122 °F) 64 - 97 kOhms
At 100 °C (212 °F) 11 - 16 kOhms
At 150 °C (302 °F) 2 - 4 KOhms

If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
