Ignition Coil: Service and Repair




COMPONENTS

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY FROM INTAKE MANIFOLD

2. REMOVE IGNITION COILS AND NO.2 INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 2 ignition coil connectors.
b. Disconnect the wire clamp from the manifold stay.




c. Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts, 2 ignition coils and manifold stay assembly.

3. REMOVE IGNITION COILS FROM NO.2 INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY




Remove the 4 bolts and ignition coils.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL IGNITION COILS TO NO.2 INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY




Install the 2 ignition coils with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kg.cm, 87 in.lb)

NOTE: The installation positions of the ignition coils are different for No.1 and No.2

2. INSTALL IGNITION COILS AND NO.2 INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY ASSEMBLY




a. Install the 2 ignition coils and manifold stay assembly with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.

Torque:
21 Nm (214 kg.cm, 15 ft.lb) for 12 mm head
42 Nm (428 kg.cm, 31 ft.lb) for 14 mm head

b. Install the wire clamp to the manifold stay.
c. Connect the 2 ignition coil connectors.
