Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection
INSPECT IGNITION COILS WITH IGNITERS a.
Disconnect the high-tension cords from the
ignition coils.
b.
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the high-tension terminals.
Secondary coil resistance:
Cold
9.7 - 16.7 kOhms Hot
12.4 - 19.6 kOhms If the resistance is not as specified, replace the
ignition coils.
c.
Reconnect the high-tension cords to the
ignition coils.
