RADIO BEZEL/AC VENT TO INSTRUMENT PANEL GAP IMPROVEMENT

Introduction
Some customers may notice a gap between the Radio Bezel/AC vent and the Instrument Panel. The Radio Bezel/AC vent has been modified and a field fix has been developed to improve this condition.
Applicable Vehicles
^ 2003 model year Corolla vehicles produced BEFORE the VIN shown below.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1. Remove Floor Shift Lever Knob Sub-Assembly (Manual Transmission Only).
2. Remove Console Panel Upper (refer to diagram for claw location).
3. Remove Fan Speed Control Knob.
4. Remove screw.
5. Remove the Instrument Cluster Finish Panel (refer to diagram for claw location).
6. Remove Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Sub-Assembly Center (refer to diagram for screw and claw location).
7. Remove the Radio Assembly from the Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Sub-Assembly Center (refer to diagram for pin location).
8. Using the 1.0 mm felt sheet, cut 2 pieces approximately 10 mm wide by 20 mm long.
9. Apply one piece of felt to the bottom of each locating hole (2) in the Instrument Panel.
NOTE:
In some cases, the felt will not provide a secure enough fit to minimize the gap. In these few instances, replace the Instrument Cluster Finish Panel Sub-Assembly Center.
10. Confirm the gap has been minimized.
11. Reassemble in reverse order.
