Title: FRONT DOOR OPENING WEATHERSTRIP

Models:
2001 -- 2005 Highlander & 2006 Highlander HV

INTRODUCTION
Customers may complain that the front door opening weatherstrip becomes loose or comes off easily. In addition, there have been concerns that service parts are short in length. The following parts and procedures are provided to address these concerns.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES
- 2001 - 2005 model year Highlander vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

- 2006 model year Highlander HV vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown.

WARRANTY INFORMATION




Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.




PARTS INFORMATION




REQUIRED TOOLS & MATERIAL

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove the scuff plate.

2. Remove the old front door opening weatherstrip.

3. Thoroughly remove, with adhesive cleaners, any remnants of mastic sealer that present on the door frame opening.




4. Install the NEW weatherstrip by following the sequence of steps (driver's side shown in illustration). Make sure the weatherstrip is fully seated onto the body.

5. Replace the scuff plate.

6. Follow the same sequence of steps on the passenger's side of the vehicle if necessary.
