Manual Shifting Test

MANUAL SHIFTING TEST

HINT: By this test, it can be determined if the trouble is within the electrical circuit or if there is a mechanical problem in the transmission.

a. Disconnect the solenoid wire.

b. Inspect the manual driving operation.
Check that the shift and gear positions correspond to the table.

HINT: If the L, 2 and D positions and the gear positions are difficult to be distinguished, conduct the manual shifting test. While driving, shift the shift lever through the L, 2 and D positions. Check that the changed gear corresponds to the shift position. If any abnormality is found during the manual shifting test, the problem is in the transmission itself.

c. Connect the solenoid wire.
d. Clear the DTC.
