Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

AIR PUMP ASSY (2ZZ-GE)
REPLACEMENT

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE AIR PUMP ASSY







a. Remove the 2 screws and clip, then open the front fender liner.







b. Disconnect the air pump relay connector.
c. Disconnect the air pump connector.
d. Disconnect the air hose No.5.
e. Remove the bolt, then remove the ground cable.







f. Remove the 2 bolts and nut, then remove the air pump.







g. Using a screwdriver, unfasten the claw. Then remove the clamp from the air pump.

3. INSTALL AIR PUMP ASSY


Torque:
Air Pump x Body:......................7.0 N.m (71 kgf cm, 62 in.lbf)
Ground Cable x Air Pump:..................8.4 N.m (86 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf)

4. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

Torque:............................5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
