Introduction
Under certain cold conditions (approximately 0°F /-18° C or below), some 2003 and 2004 model year Sequoia vehicles equipped with side airbags may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1140 or B1141 stored in the Airbag ECU memory. To prevent a M.I.L. "ON" condition, the Airbag ECU has been updated.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Powertrain Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Required SSTs
Repair Procedure
Refer to the appropriate repair manual procedure for diagnosis of the specific M.I.L. "ON" DTC present. Confirm that the ambient temperature during the M.I.L. "ON" was at or below 0° F (-180° C). If no trouble is found, after performing diagnosis for the M.I.L. "ON" replace the Center Airbag Sensor Assembly (Airbag ECU) with the part number provided in the Parts Information table.
