Removal and Installation

Generator Assy (2AZ-FE):






REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT




2. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSY
a. Disconnect the engine wire.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and generator as shown in the illustration.




3. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSY
a. Confirm that the wire harness of the crankshaft position sensor is placed as shown in the illustration.
b. Install the generator.

Torque:
21 Nm (214 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) for M8
52 Nm (530 kgf.cm, 38 ft.lbf) for M10
9.0 Nm (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) for wiring harness clamp
9.8 Nm (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf) for generator wire

NOTE: Be careful not to put the wire harness in when installing the alternator.

4. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT
