Tailgate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL




1. REMOVE SERVICE HOLE COVER
Remove the 12 screws and service hole cover.

2. DISCONNECT TALE GATE LOCK LINK FROM TAILGATE LOCK CONTROL
3. REMOVE TAILGATE CABLE




a. Disconnect the tailgate cable from the tailgate.
b. Remove the bolt and tailgate cable from the body.
c. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

Torque: 14 N.m (140 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

4. REMOVE TAILGATE LOCK FROM TAILGATE
a. Remove the 2 screws and tailgate lock.
b. Use the same manner described above to the other side.

5. REMOVE TAILGATE LOCK STRIKERS
Remove the 4 screws and tailgate lock strikers.

Torque: 12 N.m (120 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)




6. REMOVE TAILGATE
Remove the 4 screws and tailgate.

Torque:
Bolt A: 28 N.m (290 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)

7. REMOVE TAILGATE HINGES
Remove the 2 bolts and tailgate hinge.

Torque:
Bolt B: 30 N.m (310 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)
Bolt C: 24 N.m (290 kgf.cm, 19 ft.lbf)




8. REMOVE TAILGATE LOCK CONTROL
Remove the 2 bolts and tailgate lock control.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal procedure.
