Sensor Rotor

ON-VEHICLE REPAIR
1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT





2. REMOVE NO.1 AND NO.2 VEHICLE SPEED SENSORS
3. JACK UP TRANSMISSION SLIGHTLY
Securely support the transmission on a transmission jack. Lift the transmission slightly from the crossmember.





4. REMOVE CROSSMEMBER
a. Disconnect the crossmember from the O-ring.
b. Remove the 4 bolts on the rear mounting side from the engine rear mounting insulator.
c. Remove the 4 nuts, bolts, washers and crossmember.





5. REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING INSULATOR AND ENGINE MOUNTING SPACER
a. Remove the 4 bolts and engine rear mounting insulator from the engine mounting spacer.
b. Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting spacer from the transmission.





6. REMOVE EXTENSION HOUSING AND GASKET
Remove the 6 bolts, gasket and extension housing.
If necessary, tap the extension housing with a plastic hammer or a block of wood to loosen it.





7. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR AND SENSOR ROTOR
Remove the speedometer drive gear and sensor from the output shaft.
8. INSTALL SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR AND SENSOR ROTOR
Install the speedometer drive gear and sensor rotor to the output shaft.
9. INSTALL EXTENSION HOUSING AND GASKET
a. Apply sealant or equivalent to the bolt threads.
Sealant:
Part No. 08833-00080, THREE BOND 1344, LOCTITE 242 or equivalent
b. Install the extension housing with a new gasket to the case.





c. install and torque the 6 bolts.
Torque: 36 Nm (370 kgf-cm, 27 ft. lbs.)

HINT: The 2 lower bolts are shorter.





10. INSTALL ENGINE REAR MOUNTING INSULATOR AND ENGINE MOUNTING SPACER
a. Install the 4 bolts and engine mounting spacer to the transmission.
Torque: 28.5 Nm (291 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the 4 bolts and engine rear mounting to the engine mounting spacer.
Torque: 65 Nm (660 kgf-cm, 48 ft. lbs.)





11. INSTALL CROSSMEMBER
a. Install the 4 nuts, bolts, washers and crossmember.
Torque: 72 Nm (734 kgf-cm, 58 ft. lbs.)
b. Install the 4 bolts on the rear mounting side to the engine rear mounting insulator.
Torque: 18.5 Nm (189 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
c. Connect the crossmember to the O-ring.
12. INSTALL NO.1 AND NO.2 VEHICLE SPEED SENSORS
13. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT
