Variable Valve Timing Actuator Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

1. INSPECT VVT SENSOR
a. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

Standard resistance:
835 to 1,400 Ohms at cold
1,060 to 1,645 Ohms at hot

NOTE: "Cold" and "Hot" mean the temperature of the coils themselves. "Cold" is from -10 degree C (14 degree F) to 50 degree C (122 degree F) and "Hot" is from 50 degree C (122 degree F) to 100 degree C (212 degree F).
