Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE:
- Do not use dropped or damaged yaw rate sensors.
- Prevent foreign matter from attaching between the yaw rate sensor bracket and body.
- Confirm that the sensor direction is correct.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE YAW RATE SENSOR




a. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and yaw rate sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR




a. Install the yaw rate sensor with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the yaw rate sensor connector.

2. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

5. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
a. Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration.

6. INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT AND VSC WARNING LIGHT
a. Check that the ABS and VSC warning lights.

7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the negative battery cable.
