Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair

PROPORTIONING VALVE

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL





1. REMOVE PROPORTIONING VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using SST, disconnect the 5 brake tubes from the proportioning valve assembly.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and proportioning valve assembly from the body.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL PROPORTIONING VALVE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the proportioning valve assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)





(b) Using SST, connect the 5 brake tubes to the proportioning valve assembly.
SST 09023-00101
Torque: 15.2 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
2. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
3. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER
(a) Bleed the master cylinder.

4. BLEED BRAKE LINE
(a) Bleed the brake line.
5. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
