Parking Lock Cable: Service and Repair

FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY CTR
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER





7. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Push the claw and disconnect the parking lock cable assembly from the shift lock release link.





(b) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the parking lock cable assembly from the shift lever plate.

HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.





(c) Disconnect the cable clamp.
(d) Turn the ignition switch ACC or ON.





(e) Using a screwdriver, disconnect the cable from the upper bracket.

HINT: Tape up the screwdriver tip before use.

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT PARKING LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Turn the ignition switch ACC or ON.





(b) Connect the cable to the upper bracket.





(c) Connect the cable clamp.
(d) Shift the shift lever to N position.





(e) Using a screwdriver, unlock the claw of the lock key of automatic adjustment part.





(f) Pass the parking lock cable through the hole of shift lever plate.
(g) Insert the slide cap into the shift lever plate.





(h) Apply MP grease to the shift lock release link.
(i) Insert the lever pin into the hole in the cable end.





(j) Lock the lock key.

HINT: At this time, the shift lever should be in N position and the ignition key should be set to ACC or ON.

6. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
7. CHECK KEY INTERLOCK OPERATION
