Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

Ignition Switch:

IGNITION SWITCH

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE:
- Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
- After the ignition switch is turned OFF, the navigation system requires approximately 90 seconds to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch OFF, wait 90 seconds or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. for Manual Tilt: Remove the steering column.
b. for Manual Tilt and Telescopic: Remove the steering column.
c. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic: Remove the steering column.

3. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt)
4. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt and Telescopic)
5. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic)
6. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
2. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt)
3. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt and Telescopic)
4. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic)

5. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
a. for Manual Tilt: Install the steering column.
b. for Manual Tilt and Telescopic: Install the steering column.
c. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic: Install the steering column.

6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
