Timing Cover






Temporarily install the timing chain cover with the 28 bolts and nut.






Step 1: Tighten the 5 bolts in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 47 N*m (479 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)






Step 2: Tighten the 6 bolts labeled 6 to 11 in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 47 N*m (479 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf)






Step 3: Tighten the 23 bolts labeled 12 to 35 and nut in several steps in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)

No. 2 water by-pass pipe x Timing chain cover, Front water by-pass joint, Oil filter bracket 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)
Timing chain cover stud bolt 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
Oil pump cover x Timing chain cover sub-assembly 10 N*m (105 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf)
Timing chain cover sub-assembly x belt tensioner 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)
Wire harness clamp bracket x Timing chain cover sub-assembly 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lb)
No. 1 idler pulley sub-assembly x Timing chain cover sub-assembly 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf)
Water inlet housing x Timing chain cover sub-assembly 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
Oil filter bracket x Timing chain cover sub-assembly 35 N*m (357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf)
No. 2 water by-pass pipe x Timing chain cover sub-assembly (w/ Oil cooler) 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)
