Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL




2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

a. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.
b. Remove the bolt and remove the camshaft position sensor.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

a. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the O-ring on the camshaft position sensor.
b. Install the camshaft position sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf.cm, 71 in. lbs.)

NOTE: Do not twist the O-ring.

c. Connect the camshaft position sensor connector.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in. lbs.)

3. CHECK FOR ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE
