Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT




3. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

a. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.




b. Using SST, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

a. Provisionally install the engine coolant temperature sensor through a new gasket.




b. Using SST, tighten the engine coolant temperature sensor.
SST 09817-33190

Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft. lbs.)




c. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in. lbs.)

3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
4. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKAGE
