2AR-FE STARTING: STARTER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the starter with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the starter connector.
(c) Install the terminal nut and cover the nut with the cap.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
2. INSTALL BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT





(a) Install the battery bracket reinforcement with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL FRONT BATTERY BRACKET





(a) Install the front battery bracket with the 4 bolts.
for bolt (A) - Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
for bolt (B) - Torque: 19 Nm (196 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
(b) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.
4. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY
5. INSTALL BATTERY
6. INSTALL BATTERY INSULATOR
7. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP





(a) Attach the hook of the battery clamp to the front battery bracket.
(b) Partially tighten the nut and temporarily install the bolt.
(c) Adjust the battery clamp position.
(d) Tighten the nut and bolt.
for bolt - Torque: 17 Nm (168 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)
for nut - Torque: 4.9 Nm (50 kgf-cm, 43 in-lbf)
(e) Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.
8. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER Installation
9. CONNECT CABLE TO POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
