INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK WHETHER RADIO AUTO-SEARCH FUNCTIONS PROPERLY
(a) Perform the auto-search of the radio and check that it functions normally.
OK:
The radio auto-search functions properly.
NG -- CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
OK -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
2. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
(a) Check the optional component (sun shade film, telephone antenna, etc.).
(1) Check whether or not any optional component, such as the sunshade film and the telephone antenna, is installed.
OK:
An optional component is installed.
NG -- CHECK ANTENNA FOR NOISE PRODUCTION
OK -- EFFECT FROM OPTIONAL COMPONENTS
3. CHECK ANTENNA FOR NOISE PRODUCTION
(a) Check for noise with the antenna.
(1) Remove the pull top antenna pole sub-assembly by turning it in the direction of the arrow as shown in the illustration.
(2) With the ignition switch ON, turn on the radio and choose the AM mode.
(3) Place the tip of a screwdriver on the antenna of the antenna assembly, and check that noise is heard from the speaker. Noise occurs.
OK:
Noise occurs.
NG -- INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (ANTENNA)
OK -- REPLACE PULL TOP ANTENNA POLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (ANTENNA)
(a) Prepare for the check.
(1) Remove the antenna plug of the radio receiver assembly.
(b) Check for noise.
(1) With the radio receiver assembly connector connected, turn the ignition switch to ACC.
(2) Turn on the radio and choose the AM mode.
(3) Place a screwdriver or metal object such as a thin wire on the antenna jack of the radio receiver assembly and check that noise is heard from the speaker.
OK:
Noise occurs.
NG -- REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY
