SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (w/ Occupant Classification ECU, Occupant Classification Sensor): REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions

NOTICE:
When replacing the occupant classification ECU, perform registration Registration

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH Removal

5. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK COVER RH Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH Removal

7. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH Disassembly

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH Disassembly

9. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Removal

10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD RH Disassembly

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD RH Disassembly

12. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the connector and clamp as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Do not kink the pressure hose.

(c) Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clips and remove the occupant classification sensor.





NOTICE:
When the occupant classification sensor is replaced, be sure to replace the occupant classification ECU as a set.
