Engine Immobiliser System





THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM: HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

* Use these procedures to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard Voltage:

11 to 14 V

* If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output Engine Immobiliser System.

(b) Clear the DTCs Engine Immobiliser System.

(c) Recheck for DTCs Engine Immobiliser System. Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same SFI system DTC, LIN communication system DTC, steering lock system DTC or engine immobiliser system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
