DESCRIPTION
If the back door entry lock function does not operate but the back door open function operates, the communication line between the vehicle and electrical key transmitter is normal. As a faulty part, the entry lock switch circuit (certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) -> back door opener switch) can be considered.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
Before performing the inspection, check that there are no problems related to "CAN Communication System" and "LIN Communication System".
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
(a) When the door control switch of the master switch assembly is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.
OK:
Door locks operate normally.
NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM Operation Check
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
Main Body
OK:
On the Techstream screen, the display changes between ON and OFF as shown in the chart above.
NG -- GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Back Door LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR LOCK SWITCH)
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
Smart Key
OK:
"ON" (switch is pushed) or "OFF" (switch is not pushed) appears on the screen.
NG -- CHECK BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
4. CHECK BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the E29 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S7 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)
