AVC-LAN Circuit





NAVIGATION / MULTI INFO DISPLAY: NAVIGATION SYSTEM: AVC-LAN Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Each unit of the navigation system connected to the AVC-LAN (communication bus) transfers switch signals by the AVC-LAN.

If a short to +B or short to ground occurs in this AVC-LAN, the navigation system will not function normally as communication is stopped.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT
The display and navigation module display is the master unit.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY

(a) Disconnect the F43 display and navigation module display connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU)

(a) Disconnect the F43 display and navigation module display connector.

(b) Disconnect the L36 multi-media interface ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU

(a) Disconnect and reconnect the multi-media interface ECU until the display and navigation module display returns to normal operation.

HINT
If disconnecting the multi-media interface ECU causes the display and navigation module display to return to normal operation, the multi-media interface ECU is defective and should be replaced.

OK:

Display and navigation module display returns to normal operation.
